Frequently Asked Questions Routt County Chiropractic

We know starting chiropractic care can come with lots of questions — and we’re here to make things simple and stress-free. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we get from new and returning patients.

Does chiropractic care hurt?

No — chiropractic care should not be painful. At Routt County Chiropractic, we use gentle, safe techniques to realign your spine and joints. Most patients feel relief, improved mobility, and even a sense of relaxation after their adjustment. If something ever feels uncomfortable, Dr. Levi Fell will adjust his approach to make sure you’re comfortable and cared for.

Do I need X-rays before getting adjusted?

Not usually. Most patients do not need X-rays before starting care. During your New Patient Exam, we take a detailed health history and perform a physical exam to understand what’s going on in your body. If there are any red flags or concerns, we may recommend imaging for a more complete picture, but it’s not a routine step for everyone.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits depends on your unique needs and goals. Some people experience relief after just one or two adjustments, while others benefit from a short series of visits to fully resolve pain and restore mobility. We’ll create a personalized care plan for you during your first appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Chiropractic care can help with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Back pain and neck pain

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Sciatica and nerve pain

  • Sports injuries and joint pain

  • Pregnancy-related discomfort

  • General stiffness and mobility issues

  • Pre and post natal care

Even if you’re not currently in pain, regular adjustments can help keep your spine healthy and prevent future injuries.

Is chiropractic care safe for children and pregnant women?

Yes! Chiropractic care is safe and effective for patients of all ages — including kids and moms-to-be. We use gentle, age-appropriate techniques to help children stay healthy and to support women through the physical changes of pregnancy.

How long is an appointment?

  • New Patient Exam: 1 hour — includes health history, exam, discussion of goals, and your first adjustment

  • Chiropractic Adjustment: 15 minutes — quick and focused for ongoing care

Do you accept insurance?

We’re happy to provide a detailed receipt (superbill) you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many patients also choose to use HSA/FSA accounts for chiropractic care. Contact our office if you’d like to learn more about payment options.
